A proud Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung man, he was born into a legacy of fireside storytellers, and over three decades, he’s crafted a career that is as rich and enduring as the land he sings about.
With 12 studio albums, 34 Number 1 chart singles, and multiple gold and platinum records, Troy’s music is the soundtrack to life in Australia capturing the spirit of small towns, the resilience of everyday people, and the beauty of this country.
His powerful songwriting and soulful voice have earned him an astonishing 45 Golden Guitars, 6 ARIA Awards, 4 CMAA Entertainer of the Year titles, 3 APRA Song of the Year awards, and the 2025 Queensland Music Awards Album of the Year and a place among legends as the 50th inductee into the Australasian Roll of Renown.
More than just accolades, Troy’s music carries the weight of history and the pulse of the present. He’s collaborated with a diverse array of artists, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. His songs resonate because they are real, stories of love, loss, and the land we call home.
