The 25-year-old Belgian Iskander Moens already has an extensive musical journey despite his young age.
As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, Iskander pursued classical piano training at MUDA and completed his master’s in music production at KASK Conservatory of Ghent. Over the past two years, he has been actively involved as a producer, session musician, and songwriter.
Simultaneously, Iskander has been quietly making strides as a solo artist under his alter- ego “Iskander Moon.” Drawn to the allure of being absorbed by a large anonymous city, he spent extended periods in places like New York, Berlin, Boston, and Florence.
During his time there, Iskander immersed himself fully in the local music scene, performing in numerous singer-songwriter cafes where he impressed the audience with his warm tenor voice. During those stays, he effortlessly composed a collection of sparkling folk-pop songs.
As Iskander Moon, he aims to deliver simple, heartfelt pop songs with compelling lyrics, sung from behind his ivory keys. Think Bon Iver, Paolo Nutini, and Tom Odell.
