    Eskimo Joe formed in 1997 in Fremantle, Western Australia, comprising Kavyen Temperley (bass/vocals), Joel Quartermain (guitar) and Stuart MacLeod (guitar). They received national radio airplay on Triple J with the release of their first single Sweater in 1998. Their debut album Girl was released on Modular in 2001 and went gold.
